Mòbiàn zhù xù 墨辯注敘

‘Preface to a Commentary on the Mòbiàn’, written by Lǔ Shèng (fl. 3rd century CE) during the Jìn dynasty. Although the commentary itself is lost, the surviving preface is one of the earliest discussions of the Mòjīng. It describes the principle yǐn shuō jiù jīng ‘using the explanations to illuminate the canons’ and provides important evidence concerning the early interpretation and transmission of Mohist dialectics.
