Wǔ Fēibǎi 伍非百 (1890–1965)
(1890–1965) Modern scholar of Mohism and Chinese míngxué. Wǔ reconstructed the Mòjīng as part of a broader tradition extending from Dèng Xī through the Later Mohists to Huì Shī, Gōngsūn Lóng, Zhuāngzǐ, and Xúnzǐ. His Mòbiàn jiěgù (1922) reorganised the canons into a systematic structure and helped establish the modern view of the Mòjīng as a coherent body of logical, epistemological, and scientific thought. Later scholarship has increasingly treated him not merely as a commentator on the Mòjīng but as a theorist of míngxué in his own right.
