Tán Gōngsūnlóng — jiān lùn “Mòbiàn” sān pài 談公孫龍——兼論《墨辯》三派

‘On Gōngsūnlóng — also discussing the three schools of the Mòbiàn’, an essay by Shěn Yǒudǐng first published in 1981. Shěn argues that the four Jīng and Jīngshuō chapters form a single systematic body, not separate schools, and rejects the view that Jīng xià represents one of the Mòbiàn sān pài ‘three factions of the Mòbiàn’. He instead proposes a distinction between a northern Mohist tradition represented by the Jīng and Jīngshuō chapters, a southern tradition represented by Dàqǔ, and a possible third tradition associated with Xiǎoqǔ.
